Vinitaly International Academy
Launched in 2014, Vinitaly International Academy has successfully held 9 editions of Ambassadorship certification courses at home and abroad. Over 350 hand-picked wine professionals have participated the courses, 151 of them succeeded in obtaining the title as “Italian Wine Ambassadors” with another 11 prominent participants gaining the highest level of qualification as “Italian Wine Experts”.
In light of the ever-growing interests towards Italian wine in the Asia Pacific area, VIA is to host its 10 edition of Ambassadorship Certification Course
from 4 to 8 November 2018 in Hong Kong. This is also the 4th edition held in China following the 3 successful courses in Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu.
The VIA Certification Course represents a unique opportunity for wine professionals all over the world to gain extensive knowledge from the leading Italian wine experts on the subject of Italian grape varieties and wines. The course does not just offer hours of in-depth classroom teaching but also the opportunity to taste representative examples of Italian wines carefully sourced from local market. In this manner, our students have an opportunity to really understand and learn the differences between each variety and wine, as well as learn what each wine should really smell and taste like.
The Hong Kong edition is set to start prior to the 11th edition of Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair, where Vinitaly organises the Italian national pavilion. This would turn into a great opportunity for the candidates to taste the diversified offers from all over Italy and socialise with industry elites.
